About FormuSolve

FormuSolve makes free, practical calculators that answer your numbers. Most online "calculators" hand you a one-size chart and leave you to do the math; ours take your actual inputs — your pool's gallons, your zip codes, your room's square footage — and give you the specific answer for your situation.

Every tool here exists because I ran into the problem myself, couldn't find a clear answer, and built the thing I wished existed. Each one is tested carefully and checked against a trusted source before it goes live. I'm upfront about what the tools can and can't do (see the disclaimer): estimates lean conservative on purpose, and every result tells you how to double-check it.

Who builds FormuSolve

I'm Julien Levadoux, and I build FormuSolve on my own from the San Francisco Bay Area. My background is in software quality assurance, which is really just years spent making sure things return the right answer no matter what a real person types in — the same habit that goes into every calculator here.

Most of these started as my own small frustrations. I have a pool, so the pool chemistry tools are ones I actually use, with doses checked against established references. I found myself guessing how long a package would take to arrive, so I built the mail delivery calculator. If a calculator is here, it's because I needed it.

How I check the math

Formulas come from published, verifiable sources — manufacturer guidance and pool-chemistry references for the pool tools, the World Handicap System for golf, standard coverage and density figures for home and DIY, and carrier service standards for shipping. Where a value is an estimate rather than a fixed fact, I say so and round in the safer direction. If you ever spot a result that looks off, I'd genuinely like to know — corrections make the tools better for everyone.

How it's funded

FormuSolve is free to use. Some pages include affiliate links to products relevant to your result — if you buy through one, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes the calculation or the recommendation; the math comes first, always. There are no display ads, and I never accept payment to change a result.
